This is the bio I include on the Hadley Carroll Mysteries:
Bruce Leonard earned a B.A. in English with a creative-writing emphasis from UCLA. He has been a travel writer, a magazine- and newspaper editor, an owner of a bakery, and a guinea pig for the U.S. Government. He still frequently visits Paducah, Kentucky, the quilting capital of the world, where he created Hadley Carroll. He is grateful for the exciting ride she’s provided for his readers and for him. Long may the journey continue.

Bruce Leonard writes.
He does so because he's loved by Sedonia, who believes in him and his abilities, even when he's racked with self-doubt, stifled by indecision, and wide awake at 4 a.m. because the plot of his latest novel makes no sense to him. Sedonia reassures him that this plot works at least as well as those that preceded it and suggests he switch to decaf, take some melatonin, and start to meditate again.
